Not veterinary advice
Everything on this site is general information for education only. It is not a diagnosis, a treatment plan or a substitute for advice from a qualified vet. In an emergency
If you think your pet is seriously ill, injured or has swallowed something harmful, contact your vet or an emergency vet straight away. Do not wait for an article, comment or reply to tell you what to do.
How we research our guides
We write our guides in our own words after checking them against established animal-welfare and veterinary organisations, such as the PDSA, Cats Protection, Blue Cross, the RSPCA and International Cat Care. Where a guide covers health or safety, we say so and point readers to a vet. Many guides show a “last reviewed” date and list their sources. You can read more on our About page.
Accuracy and updates
We take care to keep information accurate, but veterinary guidance, laws and products change, and mistakes can happen. We cannot guarantee that every page is complete or current at the moment you read it. If you think something is wrong or out of date, please contact us and we will check it against the latest guidance and correct it where needed.
